BiographyChristina Traka

OR Christina Traka Georgiou graduated from the Department of Animal Production of the Agricultural University of Athens and prepared a thesis on the topic "Prevention of Bovine Mastitis and Evaluation of Diagnostic Methods: California test, conductivity meter, mastitis control paper and somatic cell count with Fosomatic". For the study, he collaborated with the DELTA dairy industry, where sampling was carried out in dairy production units that collaborated with the company and diagnostic methods were carried out both in the units and in its laboratory.

He has completed postgraduate studies at the Agricultural University of Athens in the Department of Plant Protection and Environment and prepared a postgraduate thesis on the topic of "Estimation of the Total Phenolic Content and Antioxidant Properties of Propolis". As part of his postgraduate studies, he completed an internship at Apivita S.A. Production of Herbal Cosmetics, where he worked on the estimation of the Total Phenolic Content and the antioxidant properties of herbal extracts produced by the company for the manufacture of cosmetics, as well as the control of their physicochemical characteristics.

He is proficient in English (Excellent knowledge), French and Spanish (very good knowledge) and German (good knowledge), holding corresponding academic qualifications.

Since 2007, he has been working in public services and private companies as an agronomist. For example, he worked:

  • To the Hellenic Agricultural Society on the subject of assessing damage from natural and non-natural causes such as frost, fires, rainfall, hail, heat waves, floods and others in crop production.
  • To OPEKEPE, on the subject of conducting sample checks of producers who receive community subsidies and cross-checking the data declared in the single payment system using GPS on the producers' agricultural plots.
  • At the DAOK of Arcadia as a sector manager, agriculturalist in the Dacocide program.
  • In the Municipality of Falesia, as an agronomist responsible for a) communication with the Public Services to resolve various issues of the producers of the Municipality of Falesia. b) Significant support for the producers affected by the 2007 fires on issues related to ELGA compensation and the reconstruction of crops. c) Provision of 42,000 olive trees to the affected producers by the MARFIN group. d) Organization of workshops for producers on issues related to beekeeping, livestock farming, production of aromatic plants and snail farming. e) Conclusion of contracts with the Agricultural University of Athens and the Agricultural University of Thessaly for livestock farming and snail farming respectively.

Her experience in submitting OSDE declarations dates back to 2008, when she began working on the completion and digitization of applications as well as on transfers of rights. Since 2021, she has been certified by OPEKEPE as a KYD of the Prefecture of Arcadia (Declaration Reception Center), being herself responsible for the KYD project. 

In 2022, he successfully completed the ELGO-DIMITRA Agricultural Advisor Training Program, in all thematic fields, and in 2024, the two new thematic fields added with the CAP 2023-2027 Framework Programme.

From 2013 until today, it undertakes the completion of the Sheep and Goat Registers as well as the Input-Output Registers and the work calendar based on the standards of cross-compliance, and informing producers about the commitments arising from these standards. It also undertakes tasks in assisting producers such as: a) Declarations of harvest of viticultural products, b) Applications for new vineyard plantings, c) Entry into the "ARTEMIS" system of the ELOG of the quantities of milk delivered to dairies by livestock farmers, etc. 

Finally, he has been involved in RDP 2014-2022 programs such as:

  • 1 "Support for new participation in quality systems",
  • 1.5 "Support for investments in agricultural holdings",
  • 1 "Starting a business by young farmers",
  • 3 "Development of small agricultural holdings",
  • 1.04 "Reduction of water pollution from agricultural activity",
  • 1.08 "Application of the sexual confusion method of microlepidoptera (CONFUCIUS)",
  • 10.09 "Conservation of endangered indigenous breeds of farm animals",
  • 11 "Organic crops".
